Founder
Walid Mando
FORMA founder Walid Mando’s international development experience spans over 30 years and includes mixed-use, multi-family residential, hospitality, commercial, and industrial projects. He has a broad range of experience in strategic planning, financial structuring, innovative sustainable design, effective project and contract management, and value-added design & engineering. His unique abilities have allowed him to integrate the broad context with site-specific solutions that are both practical and farsighted, bringing together a team of consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders, to successfully complete complex projects.
He is a trained architectural engineer with graduate studies in Environmental Design from the University of California, Berkeley. Due to his creative design and project management skills, he was appointed Visiting Scholar at Stanford University and Research Associate at the UC Berkeley Center for Environmental Design Research. He is also a strategic adviser to ChinaSF, and an active member of the Urban & Land Institute, US Green Building Council, Construction Specifications Institute, and Design Build Institute.
